Casing drain

  • Description :

The TUCAL outer casing drain is placed at a low point in a chamber or manhole. This part is adapted if the outer casing is placed under vacuum.

The outer casing drain consists of:
  • a drain pipe,
  • a burst disc fitted between flanges.

Two standard drain dimensions are available:
  • ND 40 for networks with sheaths less than ND 350
  • ND 80 for networks with sheaths greater than or equal to ND 350

If the service tube leaks, the increased pressure in the TUCAL casing causes the disc to burst and the fluid flows out. This prevents the casing pressure and temperature from increasing and avoids complete damage of the network insulation by immersion.

Burst discs are supplied fitted between two klingersil seals, ready for assembly between the flanges of the drain pipe according to EN1092-1. The effective burst pressure is about 2 bars.
  • Field of use: Industrial and special applications
